Morning’s At Seven

By Paul Osborn

Mornings at Seven

Original Cast Member: Enid Markey

Sisters Aaronetta, Cora and Ida have lived next door to each other most of their lives, with Esther just down the block. All four of the sisters are an open book to each other, husbands not included. Into the fray comes Myrtle Brown, perpetually engaged for 17 years to Ida’s son Homer. But Homer can’t seem to pop the question. Taking matters into her own hands, Myrtle finally gets a proposal by compelling Homer to fly the nest - sort of! This perennially charming portrait of small town Mid-West America debuted on Broadway in 1939. Revivals on Broadway in 1980 and in 2002 won critical acclaim and many awards.
