Dr. Austin Sloper is a man of notoriety and means. He raised his daughter, Catherine, to obey him and follow the strict principles he set down. Yet she finds love with the handsome and witty Morris Townsend. Dr. Sloper, convinced that Townsend is a fortune hunter, sets out to destroy the romance. The shy Catherine finds strength and reserves that help her survive but at a terrible cost. PAC favorites Jennifer Fitzery and Keith Elkins play Catherine and Dr. Sloper.
