Examining a Norwegian family making their way in San Francisco in 1910, I Remember Mama truly embodies the immigrant experience and the melding of values held dear by those in both the old and new country. It focuses on Mama, a loving woman whose wisdom and strength guides her husband, son and three daughters through many heart-felt episodes common to the American experience. Three-time Artie Award winner Pamela Rose Mangus plays Mama.

Sisters Aaronetta, Cora and Ida have lived next door to each other most of their lives, with Esther just down the block. All four of the sisters are an open book to each other, husbands not included. Into the fray comes Myrtle Brown, perpetually engaged for 17 years to Ida’s son Homer. But Homer can’t seem to pop the question. Taking matters into her own hands, Myrtle finally gets a proposal by compelling Homer to fly the nest - sort of! This perennially charming portrait of small town Mid-West America debuted on Broadway in 1939. Revivals on Broadway in 1980 and in 2002 won critical acclaim and many awards.

The 2009-2010 Season was presented at The Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society.
